Joel Hubert, a K9 breeder and trainer, has unmatched experience in the K9 world that is necessary to selecting and training top-notch working K9s who are an essential component of US law enforcement.
In this day and age K9s and K9 teams are in action every day in the US. From being used in felony car stops to even helping locating Osama bin Laden, K9s and K9 teams are incredibly valuable and irreplaceable in the work that they do in keeping this country safe.
K9s come from a few sources. There is an in-house breeding program within the Army. There are also breeders specific to police dogs. However, these only account for a small percentage of K9s sold to US law enforcement and the US Army. The majority K9s sold in the US are from dog sport breeders and enthusiasts like Joel Hubert who choose to sell their dogs (aged 1 or older) to law enforcement.
Dog sports, which are the training basis and roots to all working dogs, were created in Europe for breeding selection purposes. The major players are Belgium, Germany, France and Holland. Specifically, there is the Belgian Ring, Schutzhund (German sport), French Ring, and KNPV (Holland sport).
Joel Hubert specializes in French Ring and has been involved in it for over 20 years. He has bred and trained dogs starting from when they were puppies to qualify for the Cup of France, the Super Bowl of French Ring. Each year, over 1,500 dogs compete against each other in hope of making it to the finale which only allows 26 dogs to compete for the title. French Ring is very particular and difficult. By being selected for this final, Joel has proved that he is an elite trainer.
Moreover, Joel excels with his breeding program which he brought with him from France to the US. Since he moved to the US many of the dogs he has produced have been used in all branches of law enforcement. Also, a number of the dogs used in the US are imported from Europe. Joel is a huge asset in facilitating and selecting the best candidates to import because of his deep roots, connections and friendships he has acquired from his years as one of the most elite trainers and breeders in Europe.
His talent has not gone unrecognized. Since Joel moved to the US he has become one of only six judges in the country for the US entity of French Ring. This is all due to his exceptional skills and experience.
Joel's presence in the US is a benefit for all law enforcement using K9s within their forces. His training techniques are cutting edge and many agencies would benefit from having him as a speaker or trainer to help further develop their K9 programs.
